Cancelled Travel

Well, up until an hour ago, I was flying to Denver this afternoon. However, due to the prediction of 3" of snow tomorrow, I cancelled my plans at the advice of my husband. So he'll come home tonight and we'll enjoy the nicer weather in KC. Here's what I was planning to wear to travel today (plus a heavy wool coat, of course).

Do Blondes Indeed Have More Fun?

So, I'm been considering dying my hair blonde for some time now. Both of my best friends are blonde, even my mom is blonde. And, truth be told, once in the way back machine (and I mean way way back), I dyed my hair blonde, and it looked amazing!!! (until the roots grew back in and my poor younger self couldn't afford the upkeep.

But now I find myself at a place in life where I have both the time and resources to maintain a change to blonde, or blue, or purple, or any dang color I choose, if any at all (except red, that was done with rather disastrous results.)

So, it's up to you, dear readers, what's your opinion? Should I go blonde, or stay my brunette self? I've taken some photos today with a blonde wig. (and is it just me, or do my boobs seriously look bigger today?! wow - Blonde is powerful stuff!!!)

Road Trip!

Hi All!

Sorry I've been gone all week - I went on a wonderful four day road trip with my good friend Becky up to Wisconsin to visit her mom and dad. We had a terrific time! I learned how to play horse balls and wizard! Very fun! Becky's family were some of the nicest people I've had the pleasure to meet, and Wisconsin is just lovely. I'd go back in a second. Anyhow, here are some photos of our shenanigans. I only got one day of photos, because the weather was rainy the rest of the time.

Pretty as a Doll

My Sister-in-Law said that I looked pretty as a doll today, which I thought was a very sweet thing for her to say. (she also gave me a rockin' coat she found, so that was awesome too!). We took photos outside today, and I must say, I quite like the results. Perhaps I'll have to venture out for more outdoor locations :)

Mr. Not-in-Pajamas gave me a beautiful necklace last night. Isn't it lovely?

Silk and Bows

Newly thrifted silk blouse originally from Talbots, and a gorgeous antique bow pin make this a wonderful outfit to attend meetings in this afternoon. I feel professional and confident, yet still feminine and unique.... perfect!

...to only wear rhinestones at night! I thought I had ebayed these shoes, so I was extra stoked to find them hidden in the wrong shoe box. Aren't they fun!? And perfect to match the rhinestone buttons on my newly thrifted top!

Beautiful Gifted Skirt

My friend Becky was kind enough to give me this beautifully embroidered skirt. I absolutely love it! It fits perfectly and is wonderfully velvety for autumn. Thank you Becky! Love you girl!!!

First Day Of Fall

Today is officially the first day of fall, and there is a definite chill in the air this morning.

Only Happy When It Rains

Actually, that's not true, but that song just came on the radio and it seemed fitting seeing how much it's raining today. (I actually finally broke down and bought an umbrella today!) I was going for a kind of scholarly, librarian look today, but the boots (which went on last) kind of changed the whole feel of the outfit. So now I'm sort of librarian rock? rockbrarian?

Gypsy Rose

This blazer reminds me of something a Bohemian gypsy would wear... I love the beading and the unusual grass green color.... And they go well with my ebayed boots! Gypsy Rose is also the name of on of my good friends horse, so I feel like I'm in good company :)

A Very Special Guest

Making his first appearance on What I Wear When I'm Not in Pajamas is Mr. Not-In-Pajamas himself, my wonderful husband Jamison.

Safari Glam

A bunch of thrifted goodies today - the belt, shirt, and boots are all recent finds!!! I'm wearing this to go see a matinee today with some friends - I'll be bringing a sweater or a jacket, since theatre's are notoriously cold.

I LOVE these boots! They're so 70's retro cowboy, but also kind of Art Deco somehow.

Belt - I'm not usually one for animal prints, but I really liked this one, and I think it adds just enough without being gaudy.
