Tribute to Ashby from Californication

For those of you who watched the second season of Californication, you will recall the character Ashby, who Hank Moody wrote the autobiography about. I loved his character, and here is my fashion tribute to him.

Blue Suede Shoes

I found these great shoes at the thrift store for $2.50!  I love them! And thank goodness for sunny days! It's been gloomy/rainy for a week, and I was starting to get seriously depressed. I'm solar powered! Oh, and, as you can see, we got curtains! Yay!

Part 2: My Trips to France

In 2002 I returned to France, and spent two weeks in Dinard, a small town off the Emerald Coast, on the North Eastern coast of France (one of the closest points on France to England). We also visited Mont St. Michel, a thousand year old fortress that is completely enclosed by the sea every high tide.

Almost Famous

Remember the movie "Almost Famous" with Kate Hudson? She wore a awesome suede and fur (mine is real suede, but faux fur) jacket, and I just loved it. Here is my version of an "Almost Famous" look.

Part 1 of 2: my two trips to France

In the early spring of 2001 I had the wonderful opportunity to travel to Paris. Here are some photos of my experience eight years ago, around the Eiffel Tower, and enjoying a ballet at the Paris Opera House.

Asian Inspiration

This lovely thrifted skirt has a Asian inspired print. Though I passed on it the first time I saw it, the second time I came across it I picked it up, along with this peachy pinkish sweater to compliment the pattern colors of the skirt. The shoes were a lovely find during my recent thrifting in Wisconsin.

Cancelled Travel

Well, up until an hour ago, I was flying to Denver this afternoon. However, due to the prediction of 3" of snow tomorrow, I cancelled my plans at the advice of my husband. So he'll come home tonight and we'll enjoy the nicer weather in KC. Here's what I was planning to wear to travel today (plus a heavy wool coat, of course).

Do Blondes Indeed Have More Fun?

So, I'm been considering dying my hair blonde for some time now. Both of my best friends are blonde, even my mom is blonde. And, truth be told, once in the way back machine (and I mean way way back), I dyed my hair blonde, and it looked amazing!!! (until the roots grew back in and my poor younger self couldn't afford the upkeep.

But now I find myself at a place in life where I have both the time and resources to maintain a change to blonde, or blue, or purple, or any dang color I choose, if any at all (except red, that was done with rather disastrous results.)

So, it's up to you, dear readers, what's your opinion? Should I go blonde, or stay my brunette self? I've taken some photos today with a blonde wig. (and is it just me, or do my boobs seriously look bigger today?! wow - Blonde is powerful stuff!!!)

Road Trip!

Hi All!

Sorry I've been gone all week - I went on a wonderful four day road trip with my good friend Becky up to Wisconsin to visit her mom and dad. We had a terrific time! I learned how to play horse balls and wizard! Very fun! Becky's family were some of the nicest people I've had the pleasure to meet, and Wisconsin is just lovely. I'd go back in a second. Anyhow, here are some photos of our shenanigans. I only got one day of photos, because the weather was rainy the rest of the time.
