Blue Stripes

I'm so pleased to say that Mr. Not-In-Pajamas  (actually he has been in pajamas for the last couple of days) continues to recover by leaps and bounds. He's healing wonderfully (thanks perhaps in some teeny part to the stellar care he has received from nurse Sarah).

My shirt in today's outfit is the same shirt as this post. I loved it so much that I bought it in different colors. In fact, I have enough wrap shirts that I could do a whole weeks worth of posts in just this style... Hmmmm..... that's not a bad idea. :)

A Day of Nursing

Mr. Not-in-Pajamas had an out-patient surgical procedure yesterday so I've been taking care of him today. He's doing a lot better and seems to be recovering well. I don't mind the work, but I sure will sleep well tonight. It's been a full day.

Raindrops

Wow, did it pour last night! We had one heck of a storm pass through, full of thunder and heavy rains. As you can see it's still very overcast this morning. I think I must have been channeling the colors of the storm in my wardrobe choices today.

As for yesterday's dress, I chickened out and toned down the look before heading to the airport - I wore flats instead of heels, and put on a tank top under the dress so it wasn't so revealing... but even with the modifications Mr. Not-in-Pajamas was still very pleased to see me waiting for him when he arrived :).

Va-va-voom!

Mr. Not-in-Pajamas is coming home today after a week long business trip. I intend to knock his socks off when I pick him up at the airport this afternoon. Think this newly thrifted dress ($3.99 hehe!) will do the trick? ;)

Full Disclosure

As it turned out what I had on this morning is not what I ended up wearing today. I had a ton of errands to run, and knew I would have to drag groceries up to our penthouse loft (no elevator), and I was determined to drag my newly purchased desk upstairs (which I only later discovered weighted 85 pounds (I begged our landlord to let me use the freight elevator for that, which helped, some). None of these activities were conducive to high-heeled boots and skirts, so I changed into cotton pants. Which variation do you prefer?

A Little Bit Rock n' Roll

This outfit reminds me of that song with the lyrics "She's a little bit country... He's a little bit rock n' roll..." I like how the lace on the blouse softens what otherwise could be kind of a "hard" look. (I'm definitely more comfortable on the "softer" more feminine side of things).

Pink Fiesta

I love this skirt. I don't wear it very often, but when I do it makes me feel happy. There's something in it that makes me feel a teeny bit like Frida Kahlo, and how can that be bad?!

There's nothing thrifted in my ensemble today. That hasn't happened in a while!

Sunny Weather

Wow! What a beautiful day! An electrician was working on my building today, so the power was out all day, and I ended up running all over town (literally - I put 200 miles on my car today!) running various errands. There just couldn't have been a better day for it - the sky was clear and it was 70 degrees. Lovely.

Outfit details:
Shirt, (thrifted) New York & Company. Tank, (thrifted) J. Jill. Jeans, (Marshalls) Seven. Shoes, Steve Madden. Bracelet, Wear It Again Sam.

Boot Love

The new boots I bought on Ebay just arrived. I love them so! (Sorry for the photos being so overbright today. I thought my photos have been too dark lately, so I messed with the camera, and well... it's still a work in progress :)

A Night at the Symphony

Mr. Not-in-Pajamas and I went to the symphony tonight. It was wonderful! This is what I decided to wear (after ironing four different dresses and trying on what seemed like half of my closet). People watching was interesting... I saw someone in jean shorts - at the symphony. Seriously.

How Does One Drum in a Skirt?

So you might not know it but in my spare time I practice for my future career as a rock legend (and in case this whole writing thing doesn't work out I have something to fall back on). I recently discovered, thanks to the addition of Rock Band 2 into our household, that I am a pretty darn good drummer. The only down side I discovered is that it's difficult to drum in a skirt and maintain your -ahem- dignity.
