Date Night and the strange dark blob

There appear to be strange dark blobs in all the photos my husband and I took before going out tonight - weird!

Empire Waists

Well, I've had the opinion of three (straight) men that say when they see an empire waisted shirt they immediately think the woman wearing it is pregnant. Now, I've talked with women who feel exactly the opposite - that empire waists are a great way to show off the "girls". So, what do you think? Empire Waist - good or bad?

p.s. today is my homage to Princess Leia on Hoth for all my fellow Star Wars geeks.

p.s.s. do these boots rock or what!??!?! LOVE them!

Thrifted. Boots, ebay.

Empire Waist: looks great or looks pregnant?

False Advertising?

So, okay... full disclosure... I went to Vickie's Secret and picked up two of those new push-ups that are suppose to boost you two whole cup sizes. Well, here I am in it, clearly larger than I am in real life ("they look inflatable" was what my husband said when he saw them). So, what do you think? Too much?

Outfit Details:
Thrifted. Necklace, Forever 21

Is this too much "false advertising"?

Nope, looks fabulous! Only you and your hubby (and now all of us) know it's not the real deal.

Yes - Good Lord woman, you could put somebody's eye out with those things.

Eh.... Whatever.

Boobies!!!!

Casual Day

See that vaccuum peeking out behind the chair, that's what I'll be doing today. Like my slippers? They're my owl slippers and one of my favorite pairs for wearing around the house :)

Mango De Licious

I went to a all-girls burlesque class last night. I was so nervous, but it turned out to be so much fun!! We learned a "sexy librarian" routine...right up my alley! I highly recommend a class like this if one if offered in your area. Today's photos are of my "alter ego" Mango De Licious ;-D

"Thank You Ever So"

In the 50's, when women and men still wore hats as part of their ensembles these lovely face nets were called fascinators. It's that darling? I found this at the thrift store (where else?) and just had to have it. I love it so! I feel like Lauren Bacall or Elizabeth Taylor!

The Last Time I Saw Paris

I just purchased this beautiful coat after watching "The Last Time I Saw Paris" with Elizabeth Taylor. There's this great scene where she has a trench coat and runs through the rain... it's beautiful.

Daylight Savings

I had no idea today was Daylight Savings, so imagine my surprise when I discovered I've acquired a whole extra hour while I slept! Today's outfit is completely thrifted, from shoes all the way to my jacket. (my underthings are NOT thrifted, but that's not something that I'm in the market for thrifting :) ).

At the park today on an absolutely gorgeous Fall day. I wish they were all like this!

Outfit Details:
Sweater vest and blouse (both Old Navy), thrifted. Skirt (Magazine), thrifted. Jacket (Gadzooks), thrifted. Shoes (Victoria Spenser), thrifted. Earrings and necklace, thrifted. Skirt modification: new zipper installed :)

Full Service Station

Mr. Not in Pajamas and I stopped to get gas and I thought it was a great opportunity to showcase my outfit today. I sure do love this necklace - I've been wearing it a ton lately. I picked it up at the thrift store and it has no makers mark that I can find. Anyone have an idea who the artist might be? let me know in comments :)

The modification I made is to the skirt. It is thrifted and it needed the underlayer hemmed up - I think the top layer shrunk while the under layer didn't - leaving a big of extra hanging down. It was a quick fix, and now it looks great!

Outfit Details:
Skirt, vest, shirt, tights, and necklace, all thrifted. Boots, Whiplash (San Diego).
